Are You Dating A Jerk?

July 23, 2009

Heather Muse at LemonDrop:

cadIt can be tough to tell whether the guy you’re dating is just going through a tough time or if he’s a bona fide d-bag. Who can you turn to? Your friends are biased, and your shrink dumped you when you lost your insurance.

Fortunately, we enlisted real-live Jackass Steve-O to give you the reality check based on how you describe your relationship.

I guess it’s nice to have one handy when these kind of questions come up.

A relationship title is hard to tie down

December 13, 2008

A question for Carolyn Hax:

questionDear Carolyn: “Jeff” and I have been dating for more than a year and are both in our 30s. Recently, we visited his family and his parents introduced me to several people as “Jeff’s friend.” Jeff said his parents may think “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” are more appropriate for teens, but we both consider each other much more than simply a friend. So, is there a socially acceptable alternative we could use? “Friend” seems too casual and we are definitely not “partners”!

November 26, 2008

No it is not their family either. You have met them on a few occasions and have hit it off quite nicely with mom, dad and siblings.

It’s that other crew you have issues with…

Are They Still in Love With Their Ex?

November 25, 2008

By Lucia Demas

jealous1Have you ever started to date someone, begun to have feelings for them and then found out that they still hadn’t gotten over their ex? Few things in the dating world are more annoying than the “Ex-factor”. If someone is not over their ex, no matter how hot, sexy, intelligent and sweet you are, it won’t matter, because they are not in a position to appreciate it at the moment. They are living in the past. You are competing with someone they have a history with, who knows them a lot better than you do and who they share a lot of good memories with.
